Fhitting room is one of the best platforms that we have seen in the digital fitness space. Fhitting Room was started in 2012 in NYC by Kari Saitowitz, with the belief that everyone should feel they are getting 1:1 personal training, even if they are in a group fitness class. Now both an in-person studio and a comprehensive digital studio, Fhitting Room has a range of classes on their platform, broken down by experience, focus (HIIT, Strength training), equipment (no equipment needed/equipment) and community demographic (Ages 8-15, 65+, Pre/post natal, recovering from injury).
Fhitting Room's programming combines high intensity interval training, strength training and functional movements to give you a complete full body workout. Aside from the quick workouts in their library, classes typically range from 30 to 55 minutes and start with a warm up, followed by an EMOM, AMRAP or intervals and ends with a cool down. Part of the digital experience that we loved was that there is a timer for each move on the right side of the screen, a pop up with the current and next move and an overall class timer at the top. There is also a pop up window that will show you modifications for any difficult move.
One thing we love about Fhitting Room is their age inclusivity, offering classes specific to those in different stages of their lives who may need to move a different way. They offer pre/post natal classes (worth noting that they're taught by a man, but have a pregnant woman next to him showing modifications / regressions) as well as workouts geared towards youth (ages 8-15) and those aged 65 and over.
If you're looking for a workout platform that offers you functional strength movements with flexible class times and for an affordable rate, then you absolutely have to give Fhitting Room a shot, we really think you'll love it.
Average Class Difficulty
8Full Class: No Equipment
30-35 minute classMost classes are 30-35 minutes - these are total body high intensity workouts that will get your heart rate up very fast. We loved that there was an option for no equipment and you didn't feel like you needed additional weight. Were we dying after the workout we tried? No, but it definitely wasn't easy.
Full Class with Dumbbells
You'll start off with a cardio warm up followed by moves that target your entire body, from romanian deadlifts to dumbbell russian twists. One thing worth keeping in mind is that you'll likely need to have multiple sets of dumbells / kettlebells in different weights, as you'll go through a variety of movements that will likely require a different weight set for each. Not necessary, but that was our experience.
